INTERVIEW: Telia highlighted partnerships with hyperscale players including Microsoft, Amazon Web Services and Google as one of the key approaches open to operators when looking to tap new opportunities in the enterprise sector.
In an interview for Mobile World Live’s latest Themed Week, focusing on the operator revenue opportunity, Magnus Leonhardt, director, head of business development and innovation (pictured), said Telia is entering a new chapter by looking to build computing platforms in collaboration with hyperscale companies and scale across industries by providing dedicated customer services.
He stated the operator was on a path to understand how it can provide horizontal services to a B2B community which “demands more quality of service related to their process efficiency”, noting this would aid the company in finding future growth.
Leonhardt emphasised the importance for Telia to further adapt to the new digital culture by converging IT and telecommunications.
“We have been talking about ICT for some time, but we are moving into something new where we need to concentrate on building good computing platforms”, he added.
During the interview, Leonhardt also discussed the importance of connectivity and communication services, the use of locally produced networks in various industries and the role of 5G in enabling new services. View the full discussion here.
