12 October

Roughly half of the world’s population is not connected to the internet and excluded from the socio-economic benefits of digital connectivity. Now, we are witnessing a battle of the skies as innovative companies use satellites and High Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS) to offer connectivity in hard-to-reach locations in a bid to close the digital divide. Meanwhile big name network vendors are deploying equipment focused specifically on rural connectivity. And of course there needs to be a strong focus on ensuring the supply of affordable devices. This themed week will explore the different solutions to these connectivity challenges as mobile operators attempt to truly connect the whole world.
