TCL continues 5G push with new models
TCL Communication expanded its 50-series with a range of new variants, continuing a push to make 5G handsets more accessible while touting the brand’s paper-like display technology.
The launch features seven models including the TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G and the TCL 50 XE NXTPAPER 5G, which marks the entry of the NXTPAPER line of smartphones into the US market.
TCL stated the display technology was intended to offer a “balance between high-refresh rate performance and a comfortable reading experience on par with e-readers".
The company also unveiled 5G handsets with regular displays including the TCL 50 XL 5G which has a 6.8-inch full high-definition screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 50MP main camera.
TCL claimed its “diverse” 50-series reinforces its vision of innovation and inclusivity, “bringing cutting-edge and humanising features to a wide audience”.
Alongside the new handsets, the brand also introduced a 5G RedCap dongle powered by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X35 5G Modem-RF System, and a series of NXTPAPER tablets.
